Nan Solberg

Nan Young Solberg, born March 30, 1959, in Dae Cheon, Korea, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in Olympia, Washington. Nan was the beloved daughter of Maeng Juho and Yoo Junghui, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her in-laws Howard and Edna Solberg. She married the love of her life, Paul Solberg, in 1981 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Together they created a family built on love, commitment, and deep connection. After living in Seoul from 1988 to 1992, Nan settled in Olympia, where she made her home for the past 40 years. For more than 15 years, she dedicated herself to caregiving, a role that perfectly reflected her compassionate heart and unwavering generosity. She was known as a caring, playful, and loving grandmother who enjoyed making others laugh. Nan found joy in spending time with her granddaughter Rorie Romero, tending to her garden, and gathering with her close friends. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her second grandchild, Tsee-Ahrs Pluff, due in January 2026. She is survived by her husband, Paul Solberg; her children, Derik Solberg and Kristie Solberg; her grandchildren, Rorie Romero and soon-to-arrive Tsee-Ahrs Pluff; her brothers, Maeng Chul Young, Maeng Il Young, and Maeng Jin Young; her sisters, Maeng Ok Young and Maeng Sun Young; and her in-laws Leif Solberg and Linda Solberg. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A service to honor Nan's life will be held at 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042.
