Nancy A. (Maciel) Almeida, 73, of New Bedford, passed away on February 17, 2024. Born and raised in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Gloria (Correia) Maciel. She lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Nancy was the loving companion of the late Joseph Kwesi Clement and the former wife of the late Vaughn Almeida. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nancy was always there for her family. She mostly loved spending time with her grandchildren, enjoying the beach, camping, watching scary movies, listening to Patsy Cline, and going to Foxwoods Casino.
She is survived by her three daughters, Felicia Ann Almeida and Shameka Akovi Clement, both residents of New Bedford MA, and Laurie Lee Ollie of Ronoke, Virginia; two sons, Joseph Kwesi Clement, Jr, Nathaniel Almeida and his wife, all of New Bedford. She has one surviving brother, Ronald Maciel of Dartmouth, MA and four deceased siblings, Andrew "Sharky '' Maciel, William Maciel, John Maciel and her sister Deolinda Maciel. Nancy has nine grandchildren, Mariah L. Almeida, Saniah E. Ribeiro, Sanasia D. Ribeiro, Syaire J. Burgos, Khai-London J. Almeida, Joseph Kwesi Clement III, Ni'Keyah E. Clement, Jaziyla Nancy Clement, Icelynn W.Almeida and Five great-grandchildren, Na'Ziya D. Fields, Nae'Viana G. Fields, Na'Mir K. Fields, Sy'Mani Ribeiro-McKinney, and Zamias R. Adkisson; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday February 25th, from 4-8 PM at Saunders-Dwyer Home on 495 Park St. New Bedford, Ma 02740, Her Funeral will be held on Monday, February 26th, at 9 AM at the funeral home followed by her Mass at 10 AM at St. Lawrence Church, 110 Summer St. New Bedford, MA 02740. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
May her soul rest in peace and her memory be a blessing foever!
