Nancy A. Anderson, 78, of Silvis, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis Silvis Medical Center.
There will be no public services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation.
The former Nancy Ann Kingery was born May 20, 1947, in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Albert and Lucille (Cox) Kingery. She attended Cedarville University in Ohio before making a home and raising her children in the Quad Cities. An accountant, Nancy then worked in Westmont, Illinois, and in 2002 moved to Arlington, Washington, to be near her son, Eric. There, she met and married Dale Anderson, and they had a beautiful home with a backyard oasis featuring seventeen rhododendron. Dale passed away August 18, 2018. In 2021, Nancy moved back to the Quad Cities and lived with her son, Jason, and his wife, Shannon.
Devoted to God and her family, she never forgot a birthday and enjoyed hearing about everyone's lives. Nancy's excellent beef gravy, broccoli casserole, and Texas sheet cake were always a holiday highlight, and her delight in Kitchen Cooked chips and astounding pizza appetite spread joy. A gardener, ace pinochle player, beloved owner of her dog Coco, and a lover of arts and crafts with grandchildren, Nancy faced physical adversity with determination and bravery. She will be greatly missed.
Nancy is survived by her sons, Eric (Heidi) Knott and Jason (Shannon) Knott; her grandchildren, Dillan (Melea) Knott, Austin (Jewlene) Knott, Sierra Knott, Grace Knott, and Melyni Knott; three great-grandchildren; her niece, Heidi Kingery; and great-nephew, Adam Kingery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lucille Kingery; husband, Dale Anderson; brother, William "Nick" Kingery; sister-in-law, Heike Kingery; and nephew, John Kingery.
