Nancy Ann Fredrickson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Appleyard's Home for Funerals from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1, 2026.
Nancy Ann Fredrickson Nancy Ann Fredrickson, 70, of Shell Lake, passed away peacefully at Marshfield Medical Center-Weston, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, surrounded by her family. Nancy was born to Robert and Grace (Myhre) Feldt on June 15, 1955, in Anoka, MN. When she was in sixth grade, her family moved to Milltown, WI, and Nancy graduated from Unity High School in 1973. Nancy was married to Dennis Fredrickson in Cameron, WI, on August 25, 1973. They built a life, and family, there in Cameron. Along with her own children, Nancy took in her four youngest siblings and cared for them, two of which lived with her until they graduated high school. Nancy also ran a daycare in her Cameron home for many years. They eventually moved to Shell Lake, in the summer of 1993. In 1985, Nancy began working at a community based residential home for developmentally disabled adults. She worked there as a caregiver, as well as a bookkeeper. Twenty five years later, she and Dennis purchased the business and continued running the home, under the name, Northwood Gables, for ten years, before retiring. She also worked as a secretary at Shell Lake Full Gospel for several years, and later worked for many years at Shell Lake Clinic, doing coding in the billing department. Outside of work, Nancy loved needlework crafts. She crocheted, making blankets and doilies. She made beautiful counted cross stitch projects, and made a few quilts along the way. When her kids were young, she made matching dresses for her three girls. Nancy also had an Etsy store for a time, where she made flowers from layering pieces of fabric and stitching them together to make beautiful bouquets for weddings. She made the wedding bouquets for her daughter Macey, her daughter-in-law, Abie, and for her two granddaughters, Ali and Faith. Nancy also enjoyed having flower gardens, taking road trips, sitting by a campfire, and watching and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. Nancy had a great love for her family. There was a bit of a joke that if someone were to invite Nancy and Dennis to dinner, or some other event, Nancy would not be afraid to bring one or two grandkids along, or just invite the whole family to join, depending on the situation. She loved having her family around, especially her grandchildren. They were her world, and her grandkids greatly adored her, in return. If you ever had a chance to eat any of Nancy's cooking, you were in for a treat. She was especially famous in her circle for her delicious fried chicken and mashed potatoes, as well as her Egg Dumplings. Her laugh was loud and infectious. Nancy could light up a room with her smile and positive attitude. She was once called a peace keeper, and said if that was the worst thing they could come up with about her, she'd take it. Most importantly, Nancy loved Jesus. She taught Sunday School for many years, and she and Dennis made it a priority to teach their family the way of the Lord. Her faith was always evident. Even at the hospital, she continued to say, "Thank You, Jesus", and wanted her family to play Gaither's southern gospel music for her. Nancy is survived by Dennis, her husband of 52 years, 5 months and 2 days; four children, Amy (Alan) Nickell of Solon Springs, WI, Shelley (Mike) Leckel of Shell Lake, WI, Danny (Abie) Fredrickson of Santa Clarita, CA, and Macey (Justin) Cegler of Highbridge, WI; ten grandchildren, Ali (Jay) Karich, Luke (Trisha) Nickell, Trevor Nickell, Faith (Nathan) Swift, Henry and Lillis Leckel, Kari and Shannon Fredrickson, Victor and Christian Cegler; five great-grandchildren, Clara, Benjamin, Madeline and Olivia Karich, and Skyler Nickell; Five brothers, Mike (Cheryl) Feldt of Torrington, WY, Robbie Feldt of Goose Creek, SC, Frank Feldt of Nashville, TN, John (Tammy) Feldt of Suffolk, VA, and Steve (Lori) Feldt of Springdale, Arkansas; five sisters, Suzy (Mark) Davies of Spokane, WA, Judy (Rey) Espinoza of Christiana, Tennessee, Bobby Geer of Phoenix, Arizona, Molly Feldt of Rice Lake, WI, and Carrie Sandoval of Sanford, FL; many nieces and nephews, and a number of great friends. Nancy was preceded in death by a grandson, Evan Cegler; niece, Stacey Dehne; nephew, Stone Sandoval; sister, Mary Colón; father-in-law, Harlan Fredrickson; sister-in-law Robin Feldt, and brother-in-law Larry Geer. Memorial services will be held at 11AM Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the Shell Lake Full Gospel Church, in Shell Lake, WI, Rev. Josiah Hodgett officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the family.
