Nancy Archer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruebel Funeral Home from Feb. 6 to Feb. 7, 2026.
Biography: Nancy Archer died suddenly on January 18, 2026, from an unexpected illness. She was born on March 31, 1955, in Prescott, Arkansas. Her parents were Charles Huskey, Jr., and Denver Ann Huskey (White). She grew up in El Dorado, Arkansas across the street from her Aunt Ruth and Uncle Major Nodini and their children: Dorothy, Buddy, Bonnie, and Suzanne. Her younger brother, Charlie, pre-deceased her.
From an early age, she decided to be a schoolteacher and would organize the neighborhood children into classes she would teach in her carport. She also made bulletin boards in her bedroom. This desire to teach led to a BSE degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1977 followed by an MEd in 1978. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Lee Archer, whom she married in 1977. In 1978, they moved to Little Rock for Lee to begin medical school. She immediately started teaching in the Pulaski County Special School District, where she continued for 32 years. She received numerous teaching awards, including Teacher of the Year for the entire school district in 1998. She was an active member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. She served as Lead Usher for many years, attended numerous medical missions to Guatemala and Honduras, and served as the Arts and Crafts Coordinator for Helping Hands Respite Care program.
Nancy was beloved by everyone who knew her. Her kind and calming nature made everyone who came in contact with her feel at ease. Nancy was always a favorite among her coworkers and students. Her generosity towards others was unmatched. She most of all cared for her husband of 48 years. She was always thrilled when they traveled to new places and got to experience new things together. Her caring personality and patience also came out in her green thumb as a Master Gardener.
A Service of Resurrection and Celebration of Life will be held at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church on January 31st at 2:00 pm, Dr. John Robbins officiating. Visitation will be January 30th at Ruebel Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Helping Hands Ministry of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. Special thanks to the Argue Sunday School Class for their love and support. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
