Nancy Ashman Obituary
Nancy J. Ashman, 80, passed away October 11, 2023. She is survived by her beloved family; her husband of almost 60 years Frank and their children, Darren, Devin (Jacqueline), Nichole (Patrick) Telfer, Dana (Christin) and Damon (Michele); 12 precious grandchildren, Jordan (Samantha), Gavin (Katie), Maxwell (Hayley), Morgan, Cameron, Catie, Lauren, Madison, Rocco, Corey, Alexander and Sophia; her brothers Scott (Maureen) Hause and Kevin (Christine Barnaby) Hause; former daughter-in-law Colleen, numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins. Nancy was predeceased by her parents Willis and Dorothy Hause, her parents-in-law Ray and Ida Ashman and her special grandmother Pauline "Mamie" Zeigler. Nancy graduated from Chenango Valley High School and Broome Tech. She worked briefly as a dental hygienist before devoting herself to raising her family. Nancy loved shopping - anywhere and anytime. She especially enjoyed her excursions to NYC looking for designer purses and other special items. Nancy was known for the many beautiful handcrafted wreaths she made as gifts and to sell. Her greatest joy and love was her family. She was very supportive of all her children and grandchildren, encouraging them in all their endeavors. She especially enjoyed family vacations at the Jersey Shore and other destinations. The family extends their appreciation to the dedicated staff at Lourdes Hospital for the special care they provided to Nancy, especially those on Ross 1 and Seton.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday at the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church, 740 River Rd. Binghamton, NY. Burial will follow at Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 pm Monday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton.
