Nancy Augustin

Nancy Augustin est née le 30 octobre 1977 à Elizabeth, New Jersey, de Andree Mona Augustin et Duvergnaud Jean. À l'âge tendre de six mois, Nancy a déménagé avec sa famille à Port-au-Prince, Haïti, o' elle a passé la majeure partie de son enfance et a reçu son éducation primaire dans une école américaine anglophone.
Pour rester en contact avec les membres de sa famille aux États-Unis, sa mère veillait à ce que Nancy fasse fréquemment des voyages aux États-Unis pour rendre visite à ses proches et passer du temps de qualité avec eux. À l'approche de l'adolescence, sa mère décida qu'il serait approprié de la ramener aux États-Unis. Nancy et sa mère ont déménagé à Jamaica, dans le Queens, New York. Elle a fréquenté le lycée de Jamaica et a excellé académiquement tout au long de son parcours scolaire. Nancy a reçu de nombreux prix dans différentes matières et a obtenu un diplôme de lycée Regents. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme du lycée de Jamaica en juin 1995, elle a fréquenté le Nassau Community College pendant un semestre avant de transférer à l'Université du Massachusetts, à Lowell. Après trois semestres, elle a obtenu un Bachelor of Science en sciences de laboratoire clinique.
Tout au long de sa carrière professionnelle, Nancy a travaillé pour diverses entreprises, dont l'hôpital Emory et Delta Airlines, o' elle a saisi l'opportunité de voyager. Elle était connue pour son esprit aventurier et sa grande curiosité envers le monde qui l'entourait. Nancy était une lectrice passionnée, particulièrement intéressée par l'histoire et les biographies de personnes influentes. Son amour de la connaissance n'avait d'égal que son amour de la vie.
La famille était au cœur de la vie de Nancy. Elle entretenait des liens spéciaux avec ses frères et sœurs, qu'elle chérissait et avec qui elle parlait fréquemment. Profondément dévouée à sa famille, Nancy attachait une grande importance aux conversations sincères et aux moments passés avec ses proches.
Entourée de personnes ayant une forte foi en Dieu, sa mère, sa grand-mère et ses tantes ont inculqué cette foi profonde à Nancy. Son parcours spirituel s'est intensifié lorsqu'elle a consacré sa vie à Jésus-Christ à l'Église du Christ de Boston. Sa foi est devenue le fondement de sa vie; elle était une fidèle participante aux cultes et cherchait constamment à se rapprocher de Dieu.
En 2015, Nancy a déménagé dans le New Jersey, o' elle a dû faire face aux défis de vivre avec une maladie mentale. Malgré ses difficultés de santé, Nancy est restée forte et résiliente. Développant une passion pour le bien-être mental et physique, elle est devenue une défenseure de la santé mentale. Elle éduquait souvent son entourage sur le sujet et brisait les stigmates associés à la maladie mentale. Avec le soutien indéfectible de sa mère, Andree Mona, qui était à ses côtés tout au long de sa maladie, Nancy a vécu avec grâce et persévérance.
Le 16 novembre 2024, à l'âge de 47 ans, Nancy est retournée auprès du Seigneur. Elle laisse dans le deuil sa mère bien-aimée, Andree; ses frères et sœurs: Neika, Claude, Dinette, Keena et son mari Widner, ainsi que Daphne et son mari Ricardo, Duvergnaud Jr, Noadia, Storm, Omiel, Exon et Zulema; ses innombrables nièces et neveux; sa tante, Marie Elie et son mari Mario; sa grande-tante Carmen, ses oncles, Tony, Gabriel, Salomon et Arnel et son épouse Anita; ainsi que de nombreux cousins, dont Gregory, Josue, Tahnee, Marus, Marvin, Christina, Gonald, Regine, Annette, Lourdes, et bien d'autres issus des familles Augustin, Moncion et Manigat. Nancy a été précédée dans la mort par son père, Duvergnaud, sa sœur, Magine, sa grand-mère, Marcelle, et sa tante, Marguerite.
Nancy sera rappelée comme une femme de force et de persévérance. Son héritage perdurera dans les nombreuses vies qu'elle a touchées par son esprit vif, son charisme et son authenticité. Elle manquera profondément à tous ceux qui ont eu le privilège de la connaître.
En 2022, pour son 45e anniversaire, Nancy a choisi une organisation à but non lucratif, la International Bipolar Foundation, à laquelle les gens pouvaient faire des dons en lieu et place de cadeaux. Elle a choisi cette organisation parce que leur mission lui tenait particulièrement à cœur. Nancy Augustin was born on October 30th, 1977, in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Andree Mona Augustin and Duvergnaud Jean. At the tender age of just six months, Nancy moved with her family to Port-au- Prince, Haiti, where she spent most of her childhood and received her primary education at an American English School there. To keep her abreast with family members in the States, her mother ensured that Nancy made frequent trips to the United States to visit and spend quality time with family and siblings. As Nancy approached her teenage years, her mother decided it would be fitting for her to move back to the States. Nancy and her mother relocated to Jamaica, Queens, New York. She attended Jamaica High School and excelled academically throughout her scholastic life. Nancy received many accolades in different subjects and graduated with a Regents High School Diploma. After graduating from Jamaica High School in June of 1995, she attended Nassau Community College for one semester before transferring to the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. After three semesters she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Throughout her professional career, Nancy worked for various companies, including Emory Hospital and Delta Airlines, where she embraced the opportunity to travel. She was known for her adventurous spirit and a deep curiosity about the world around her. Nancy was an avid reader with a passion for learning, especially about history and the biographies of influential people. Her love for knowledge was matched only by her love of life. Family was at the core of Nancy's heart. She had a special bond with her siblings, whom she cherished and spoke with frequently. Deeply devoted to her family, Nancy valued meaningful, heartfelt conversations and cherished the time spent with loved ones. Surrounded by people who have strong Faith in God: her mother, grandmother, and aunts, inculcated that strong Faith in Nancy. Nancy's spiritual journey deepened when she surrendered her life to Jesus Christ at the Boston Church of Christ. Her faith became the cornerstone of her life; she was a dedicated churchgoer who consistently sought to grow closer to God. In 2015, Nancy moved to New Jersey, where she faced the challenges of living with a mental illness. Despite her health struggles, Nancy remained strong and resilient. Developing a passion for mental and physical wellness, she became an advocate for mental health. She would often educate those around her on the subject and debunked the stigma associated with mental illness. With unwavering support from her mother, Andree Mona, who was by her side throughout her illness, Nancy lived with a sense of grace and perseverance. On November 16, 2024, at the age of 47, Nancy went Home to the Lord. She is survived by her beloved mother, Andree; her siblings- Neika, Claude, Dinette, Keena and her husband Widner, and Daphne and her husband Ricardo, Duvergnaud Jr, Noadia, Storm, Omiel, Exon, and Zulema; her countless nieces and nephews; her aunt, Marie Elie and her husband Mario; her great aunt Carmen, her uncles, Tony, Gabriel, Salomon, and Arnel and his wife, Anita; Her many cousins including Gregory, Josue, Tahnee, Marus, Marvin, Christina, Gonald, Regine, Annette, Lourdes, and many more from the family tree of Àugustin, Moncion,and Manigat. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Duvergnaud, her sister, Magine, her grandmother, Marcelle, and her aunt, Marguerite. Nancy will be remembered as a woman of strength and perseverance. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched with her wittiness, charisma, and authenticity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In 2022, for Nancy's 45th birthday, she selected a nonprofit, International Bipolar Foundation, for people to donate to in lieu of gifts. She chose this nonprofit because their mission meant a lot to her.
