BARBER, Nancy W.
Age 83 of Keuka Lake,
passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
Nancy was born in Horseheads on Mar. 15, 1939, a daughter to Albert and Frances (Sanders) Wagner. She was raised on Morley Place on the Southside of Elmira, went to Southside High School, and was raised and married in the Pennsylvania Ave. United Methodist Church.
Prior to attending SUNY Farmingdale, she was employed by Dr. Shepson, DDS in Elmira Heights. She married her husband, Jack on Oct. 13, 1962, and together worked a long and rewarding career at their funeral home.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband on July 30, 1993, and is survived by her family,
Wayne Wallace, whom she met on July 25, 1995, and spent 28 wonderful years together.
Sons, Robert Barber of Plantation, FL and Keuka Lake,
Scott (Darlene) Barber of Burdett, NY;
Sister, Gail (Priscilla Kinkade) Wagner of Kennesaw, GA,
Sister-in-law, Linda Wagner of Naples, FL; nephews, a host of extended family, cherished neighbors, and dear friends.
Nancy was also predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Wagner in 2015.
Nancy always had a gleaming smile. She loved her family, career, her home, and Keuka Lake. She enjoyed every sunrise, every sunset, the aroma of blooming flowers, plants, freshly mowed grass and trimmed shrubs. In addition to her family, she especially enjoyed the Spirit of Christmas, decorating her home, both inside and out; lighting her landscape, her mantle, Nativity, and especially her tree with all the special ornaments-each with a special story behind them.
Family and Friends are invited to Barber Funeral Home on Wed. May 18, 2022, from 2-5:00 p.m. Her service will be celebrated in the Pennsylvania Ave. United Methodist Church, 1238 Penna Ave., Pine City, NY 14871 on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 12:00 noon. A private burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads.
