Nancy E. Bauer, a woman of remarkable grace, intellect, wit, and charm, passed away on October 2, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 82. Born on September 26, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia, Nancy's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and treasured relationships.
Nancy's career as a business owner in title research showcased her dedication and meticulous nature. Her professional life reflected her commitment to precision and her ability to thrive in complex environments. Yet, it was her interests and personal passions that truly defined her.
A proud Daughter of the American Revolution, Nancy embraced her heritage with honor and used it as a bridge to explore her deep interest n British culture, values, and life. Her admiration for historical figures, particularly King Richard III, illustrated her love for history and storytelling.
An avid reader, Nancy found joy and escape in the pages of fantasy fiction, where her imagination could soar. Music was a constant companion in her life, and she found happiness playing her guitar or listening to her favorite artists, with ABBA and John Denver among her cherished choices. The timeless sounds of old pop and folk music of the 5os, 60s, and 70s always held a special place in her heart.
Nancy's artistic talents extended to painting, where her portraits became family treasures, lasting memories that captured moments of love and connection. Above all, her family was her greatest treasure, and she held them close with unwavering devotion.
Nancy carried the pride of sharing in the service and sacrifice of her beloved husband, Lee Anthony Bauer, Lt. Colonel, U. S. Air Force, who preceded her in death. Together, they created a legacy of love and resilience.
Nancy leaves behind a family that adored her: her children, Timothy Fijak, Patricia Driscoll, Kevin Scott Fijak, and Amy Baver; her brother, Emory "Bo" Howell Edwards III; her niece, Victoria Larson; her grandchildren, Rebecca "Becky", Robbie, Trisha, Courtney, Kevin Jr., Esme, and Eowyn; and her great-grandbabies, Ozzie, Sailor, Evelyn, Amelia, and Elouise,. Each of them carries forward her love and her strength.
No services are scheduled at this time. Nancy will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery with her late husband at a future date, honoring their shared journey and enduring love.
In her life, Nancy embodied grace, warmth, and creativity, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those she loved and those who had the privilege to call her family and friend.
