Mrs. Nancy Brown Baxley, age 74 of Toomsboro, passed away at her residence on Monday, November 11, 2024. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville, with interment following at Ebeneezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Toomsboro at 12:20p.m. Reverend Ken Brogden will officiate and pallbearers will be Darryl Valentine, Lance Smith, Harley Smith, Lee Armor, Henry Armor, Jody Peeler, and Mike Allen. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Baxley was born in Sandersville, the daughter of the late Victor Brown and the late Janet Bussell Brown. She grew up in Warthen and later moved to Toomsboro where she attended Toomsboro Baptist Church. Mrs. Baxley was a social worker for the Department of Family and Children's Services. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, and many other games, as well as shopping and going out to eat. Her favorite activity was sitting at her kitchen counter and watching television. Mrs. Baxley found much pleasure in visiting her daughter near Mrytle Beach, SC. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Terry Lynn Baxley; and siblings, Victor Brown and Starr Brown Smith.
Mrs. Baxley is survived by her daughter, Sherri B. Valentine and her husband Darryl of Loris, SC; son, Glenn Baxley and his wife Melanie of Dublin; grandchildren, Allie Griffin, Gage Baxley, Kaden Baxley, and Haley Riner; special cousin and caregiver, Dottie Peeler; family pets, Bob-o and Chloe; and many other cherished family and friends.
