Nancy Estelle Grissom Bell

Nancy Grissom Bell, 80, of Elon passed away Monday, July 29, 2024. Nancy was born in Henderson, North Carolina to the late Robert and Margaret Grissom on September 23, 1943.

Nancy spent her life educating. She taught or was a counselor for all levels of education, including Western Alamance High School, Williams High School, Burlington Day School, Jackson Middle School, and Alamance Community College. She loved teaching and helping so many students. Nancy also spent her lifetime teaching Sunday School to a wide variety of age groups. She felt fortunate to be able to share her faith with so many. Nancy graduated from Elon College and earned several masters degrees throughout her career.

More than anything, Nancy loved being a grandmother and a great grandmother. She loved to entertain and to spend time with her family, family of her heart and many friends.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Melissa Bell; granddaughter, Jennifer McLaughlin (Casey); great-grandson, Lenny McLaughlin; aunt, Lila Cassell; extended family, Mary Griffin, Terrie Kirk, Ashlynn Brown (Matt) and Connor Kirk. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 11th at 1pm at Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington. Online condolences may be made at www.lowefuneralhome.com.
