Benson, Nancy, 86, formerly of Mapleton, passed away July 2, 2025, at Embassy of Huntingdon Park. Born August 13, 1938, daughter of the late William and Evaline (Booher) Shives. Survived by children, Sherian Kelley; and William Benson; four grandchildren, Stephanie Renninger; Elisabeth Foley; Jonathan Kelley; Gabrielle Benson; and Tristan Benson; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Shives. Preceded in death by her loving husband, John K. Benson; son, John D. Benson; grandson, Dustin Benson; and siblings, Wallace D. Shives and Nellie Coates. Nancy was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Mapleton, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Nancy was a member of the Bricktown Senior Center, where she was past president. She was also a member of the Standing Stone Senior Group, the Marine Corp League, past member of the IOOF Rebecca Lodge, and a member of the Mapleton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Nancy enjoyed playing cards. Most of all she loved to spend time with family and friends. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday July 8, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday July 9, 2025, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon, at the funeral home, Pastor Bill Benson, officiant. Interment to follow at Mapleton IOOF Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
