Nancy Bolen Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 8, 2024.
Nancy Lou Bolen (Stephens) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2024, surrounded by family.
She was born on February 28, 1949 in Raymondville, TX to Cecil Clayton and Fannie Marie (Switzer) Stephens.
Nancy lived most of her life in Texas City and graduated from Texas City High School in 1967. She worked many jobs in her life but she was a waitress at heart. She waitressed at Hillman's Seafood Café in San Leon for many years until it closed due to damage from Hurricane Alicia. She was very creative and loved to bake and decorate cakes for loved ones and friends. She also loved to sew and make wreaths for others. Nancy was a collector of many things including Hallmark ornaments, Wilton cake pans and Home Interior, just to name a few. She loved to dance and frequently went to Gilley's with one of her nieces back when it was open. No, she never rode the bull. She was known for her willingness to help others, her unique sense of humor and her LOVE of Dr. Pepper. She lived her life her way and she always loved her girls unconditionally. She is greatly missed by many.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Brenda Stephens and Carolyn Crenshaw and her brothers Dub Stephens and A.J. Stephens.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jennifer (Bolen) Danesi and Melanie Bolen, her son-in-law Stephen Danesi, her "favorite grandson" Brett Danesi, her "favorite granddaughter" Malarie Martin, her sisters Myrna Slanksy (T.J.) and Maggie Meeks (J.B.), brothers Casey Stephens (Jimmie), Joe Stephens (Alice), and John Stephens (Vita) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Her family would like to extend a special thanks to Melinda Skillman, Chandra Beck, and the staff at Solidago Health and Rehabilitation for helping to care for Nancy and to her nieces Donna Clawson and Angela Jones for your selfless love and support during her final days.
There will be a Celebration of Life on her birthday, Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Nessler Center in Texas City.
