Nancy Lou Boyd, 95, of Layton, Utah, passed peacefully on November 29, 2025. Born on August 4, 1930, in
Toledo, Ohio, to the late Carll and Helen Strauss. Nancy was a bright light among all who came within her reach. The love she radiated was felt by all who knew her, both family and friends.
She grew up during the Great Depression and WWII. As a result, she became a "saver," and a supporter of important causes.
Her family, consisted of Father, Carll Herman Strauss, Mother Helen Lenore Clark Srauss, and sister Rilla Strauss Hammett. Nancy and family would attend church on Sunday, and listen on the radio to the Metropolitan Opera, and weekly news broadcasts on Saturday nights.
Nancy graduated high school with honors and was valedictorian of her senior class.
Nancy Married Paul Boyd on May 27, 1950, and welcomed to her family Buz (1952), Denice (1953) and William Carll (1956) who died after just two short months.
Nancy was a working mom, somewhat unusual for her day, and had several opportunities to learn and to grow in her professional life. She worked in sales and accounting, also as a church secretary and an executive assistant during her regular working life. Following retirement she worked with her daughter Denice for Hallmark greeting cards.
Nancy is survived by her large and wonderful family. Nancy's legacy lives on through her son Paul "Buz" Boyd Jr and wife Jeannie, daughter Denice and husband Dana Floyd.
