Nancy Stroud Cartrette

Mrs. Nancy Jo Stroud Cartrette, 70, resident of Trinity, went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2025, at Thomasville Medical Center.

She was born December 8, 1954, in Hope Mills, NC, a daughter to Escol and Nora Collins Stroud. A resident of this area most of her life, Nancy worked as an independent nail technician and was a member of New Grace Baptist Church in Thomasville. She later retired from High Point Regional Hospital. Nancy was a special wife, mother and sister who never met a stranger, always making others feel special with her shining personality. To know her was to love her.

On October 20, 1972, she married Donnie Cartrette, who survives of the residence. Also surviving is her daughter, Tammy Jo Grainger and husband Ben of Sophia; and three nieces, Khloe Grainger, Tuesday Warner and Michelle Parris; and two nephews, Brandon and Derek Stroud. Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Cartrette Jr. in 1978; her sister, Melinda Stroud; and brothers, David and Tony Stroud.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, at New Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Lunsford officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at the church. Memorials may be directed to her church at 1029 Blair St. Thomasville, NC 27260.
