Kimball D Cartrette was born on September 29, 1946, in Roosevelt, Utah. Kim graduated from Altamont High School in Altamont, Utah.

He was drafted by the Army at age 19 and served his country for 2 yrs in Germany as a mechanic during the Vietnam War

After the army he attended LDS Business College and went on to marry Karen Ann Brotherson (Cartrette) on June 14, 1969.

Kim and Karen had five children, KariAnn, Korri, Karen Nicola (Nikki stillborn), Kord and Kade. Together they lived and raised their family in Salt Lake City Utah, Reno Nevada, Surprise Arizona, and Waddell Arizona.

Kim retired from a successful career in the restaurant business. He was a great motivator, manager, trainer, and always led by example with a positive attitude. He was resilient no matter the circumstances.

Kim was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served honorably in multiple callings, some of those being a teacher in Sunday School, a Bishop, and recently as Ward Clerk. Kim loved working with people and had the ability to make everyone feel important.

He loved sports, movies, cars and spending time with his family.

Kim is survived by his wife Karen Ann Brotherson Cartrette, his daughter KariAnn Cartrette Gibbons, (family)Brian Gibbons, Benjamin Gibbons, Nikolas Gibbons, Tyler Gibbons and Georgia McKnight (Gibbons), his daughter Korri Cartrette White (family), Mike White, Weylen White, Kabria White, Emma White, Whitney White and Barrett White, Gaven White and Sam Hill (White), Jillian White Close, Noah Close and Wesley Close, Zane White, and Holli White, his daughter Karen Nicola (Nikki) Cartrette (preceded in death), his son Kord Cartrette, (family) Brittany Cartrette, Micheala Cartrette, Landon Cartrette, Kendal Cartrette, JJ Cartrette and Porter Cartrette, his son Kade Cartrette (family) Amber Cartrette, Brekkyn Cartrette, Berlynn Cartrette, Torryn Cartrette and Revvyn Cartrette, his sister Sheryl (preceded in death) and Roger Brewer, his sister Claudine and Rich Grimsdell, his brother Travis and Teri Mitchell, his brother Shane and Julie Mitchell.

A visitation will be held at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15880 Cactus Rd, Surprise, AZ 85379, Monday December 29th, at 8:00am, with funeral services to follow at 9:00am.

A graveside burial will take place at Sunland Memorial Cemetery, 15826 N Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351, following funeral services.

I just heard Kim passed. I am sorry for your loss and regret I did not know until yesterday March 30th. My friends and family I will miss him as well and I miss all of you. Kim was a brother and mentor to me. May you all be blessed and have peace.

I remember Kim. He was a mentor to me when he was the District Manager for Taco Bell Las Cal corporation. Amongst many things, he taught me about the value of marriage as a covenant and the importance of a strong ethic.
I remember his wife and kids. Beautiful memories

I was on here looking for an obituary of a friend that pasted and I seen this and broke my heart! I´ve cut Kim´s hair for a few years. He was one of our sweetest customers. So sorry for your loss´
