Nancy Carol Ann Filer Ceremuga, a radiant soul who filled the lives of those around her with joy and laughter, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in Spartanburg, SC. She was born on Friday, April 28, 1939, in the town of Greenville, Pennsylvania, to the late, Robert J. Filer and Charlotte McCale Filer.
Nancy’s life was a true embodiment of love, kindness, and a zest for living. In her role as a homemaker extraordinaire, Nancy devoted herself fully to her family, always prioritizing the needs of others before her own. Her warmth and happiness enveloped everyone she encountered, often wrapped within her witty sweet sense of humor that brought a smile to their faces. To know Nancy was to know a life infused with fun.
An avid reader, Nancy found enjoyment in the pages of books and shared her love of music through the elegant strains of the organ and piano. As an athlete, she even had the talent of being a great golfer. She enjoyed spending time at North Myrtle Beach, looking out from the balcony, watching the dolphins, where the waves became the backdrop of a reflection of her love for the ocean.
Nancy was a master gardener whose green thumb turned everything she touched into vibrant life, from the beautiful gardens she created. She was also an accomplished seamstress and quilter whose creations told stories of love stitched into every fabric.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Paul Patrick Ceremuga and her parents.
Nancy is survived by her children: Lynn Peterman (Russ) of Fort Collins, CO; Dan Ceremuga (Sandi) of Inman, SC; David Ceremuga (Sheila) of Taylors, SC; and Paula Rossi (Bobby) of Pauline, SC; her eight beloved grandchildren, Todd Theiss, Jessica Diller (Jake), Daniel Ceremuga (Cara), Holly Thomas (Lukas), Lauren Ceremuga, Matthew Rossi, Julia Cudd (Matthew), and Anna Ceremuga; her ten great-grandchildren, Derek and Morgan Theiss; Addi, Emmi, and Eloise Diller; Sam, Silas, and Sophie Ceremuga; and Charlie and Claire Thomas, each one a part of her heart.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
