Nancy Marie (Monroe) Chybowski was born on Oct 11, 1931 in South Milwaukee, WI. She lived most of her life in South Milwaukee, lived in Arizona and Appleton later in life, and Madison for her final years. Nancy was married to Frank “Pinky” Chybowski on June 10, 1950 and then began her proudest accomplishment, raising her four loving boys: Bob Chybowski (Cathy Chybowski), Tim Chybowski (Elly Chybowski), Jim Chybowski (Vicki Chybowski), and Frank Chybowski (Cathy Chybowski).

Nancy leaves behind 9 grandchildren who adored her: Julia Chybowski (Jason), Tom Chybowski, Emily Stockbridge (Mike), Joe Chybowski (Amy), Jake Chybowski (Alex), Steve Chybowski (Faith), Kate Penzenstadler (Nick), Matt Chybowski (Samantha), and Nancy Bryson (Alex). In addition, she relished her role as Great-Grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren and as an aunt to her nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Pinky, and her later in life companion, Fritz Lorentzen.

Nancy was an accomplished artist; knitting hundreds of one of a kind sweaters for her friends and family. In her 70s, she began a painting career that covered many canvases, cards and even furniture. Nancy had a career in real estate for a period of time. Nancy was also active in her South Milwaukee community, serving on the board of directors at Human Concerns and Trinity Memorial Hospital. She also led the development of a preschool program called “Tot Time” at the YMCA.

Nancy enjoyed birthday parties more than any holiday but the true thing that she will always be remembered for is that she saw each and every one of her family members for their authentic selves and she loved them unconditionally.

Nancy died on August 26, 2025 while holding the hand of one of her many beloved family members. Thank you to the incredible team at Vista West and Agrace Hospice for the compassionate and loving care that was given to her. A celebration of life will be held at a future date to honor her legacy and the love that she built among her family.
