Nancy Marie Collins

Nancy Marie Collins, 83, of Burleson peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025. She was born April 30, 1942, in Downsville, Louisiana.

Nancy was a loving mom and grandma. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, and gardening in her spare time, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Whether she was cheering on her horses at the track with Kenneth, traveling, shopping, or just having a family dinner, her kids and grandkids brought her joy. Some of her most cherished memories were being at the farm, peacefully swinging from her favorite porch swing, enjoying the sunshine in the river, and taking in God's creation while canoeing.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Collins and parents, Howard Thurston and Robbie Strickland.

Nancy is survived by sons, Billy Vaughn Cheek and wife, Carol, of Joshua and Danny Ray Cheek of Burleson; daughters, Robin Cheek Wolff of Alvarado and Belinda Cheek Smith and husband, David, of Cleburne; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2025, in the Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Kevin Bentley officiating. Internment follows at Union Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
