Nancy Sue Conell, much loved wife of James E. Conell. Daughter of Chester Lee Whiteker andMary Lou Whiteker passed into the arms of her Savior on Friday, August 15, 2025. Born on March 18, 1959, Chester & Mary Lou's second child Nancy left behind an older brother, Dan of California and a younger sister Sharon of Colorado. Her aunt Naomi and her mom still live in Idaho but her dad preceded Nancy to heaven by 20 months. Nancy was also related to the Arndt family, many of whom reside in Missouri. Finally, Nancy married into the Conell family thirty-six years ago. Nancy literally has family from coast to coast and north to south.

Nancy was saved in June of 1972 and baptized in July at the Jerome Bible Baptist Church in Jerome, Idaho. During High School she participated in Glee Club and sang with a teen church group. After graduation, Nancy traveled to Springfield, MO to attend her mom and dad's alma mater Baptist Bible College. Accepting a job in the college library after graduation, she stayed on in Springfield.

In 1989 Nancy was introduced by a former college roommate to a local man for a Valentine's Day Banquet at his church. On July first of that same year, they married. She then participated in ministries at New Life Baptist Church of Willard, MO assisting her husband Jim in teaching an adult class and in the sound and media ministry, among other things.

In 2015 Jim and Nancy felt motivated by the Lord to move their membership to West Republic Baptist Church making new friends and growing to better know the Lord.

Over all the years, as a minister's daughter, through BBC as a student and a staff member and her service at the churches, Nancy came to know many Preachers, Missionaries and their families. She was an advocate for them when she could be and supported missions through prayer always and funds when she could.

Nancy's health had been failing for several years but recently she developed an infection that her body couldn't throw off. Following a brief stay in the hospital she left Earth for a much better home in Heaven with Jesus.

Interesting notes: Nancy has enjoyed music all her life and she really appreciated her sister Sharon's musical talent; She claimed to have no musical talent but would play for group practices and enjoyed getting small groups together (Sharon helped some with that); As a young child she participated in a neighborhood "marching band;" While traveling with her family as a child they played church in the car and she was the music leader because, "women can't preach and Sharon was the piano player;" Over the years Nancy was employed by BBC in several roles; She was employed by Missouri Farm Bureau as a substitute receptionist; She was also an election poll worker/supervisor.

We will be celebrating Nancy's life and home going on August 28 th , 2025 at the West Republic Baptist Church, 3440 US-60, Billings, MO 65610. Visitation at 9:00am - 11:00am and Service at 11am. Interment will also be on August 28 th , 2025 at 1pm at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery located at 5201 S. Southwood Road, Springfield, MO 65804.
