Nancy Cornell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Springs Funeral Services - Platte on Feb. 3, 2026.
Nancy Cornell left us January 16, 2026 with her family by her side after a sudden unexpected illness.

Nancy was born December 10, 1941 in Holyoke, Colorado to Walter and Mildred Lindgren. She was the youngest of two children, her brother Larry proceeded her in death. Nancy graduated from Colorado Springs High School (now Palmer High School).

Nancy married her high school sweetheart Richard Cornell in 1962, and two children were born from the union. Nancy took on many roles in her life first and foremost she made an amazing mother and raised her children with involvement in volunteering at school, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and cheering her children and grandchildren in on their sporting events. Nancy worked for the Colorado Springs Utilities for a short time then her and Richard established a successful local trucking business that ran for over 50 years. She turned her hobby of bowling into a love and was secretary for over 20 years of the women's Lutheran bowling league. Nancy took on her own business as well, and every one of her clients and she cared for them as if they were her family. Anyone that had met Nancy was blessed to know her kind heart and her strength of her smile to make everyone's day better. Nancy also found the positive and everything and passed that onto her children and grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her two children, Troy Cornell and Tanya Currin (Clyde Madrid Jr) and six grandchildren, McKenzie, Jordan, Madisyn, Caylee, Casey and Cadey. She was also blessed with three great grandchildren Houston, Lane and Mia. Nancy spent her time being there for family and the company of her dog Sassy.

Yesterday

So very sorry to read of Nancy's passing. She worked in our homes for over 25 years, and we adored her like a family member. One of the most loyal gracious, hard-working women I have ever known. We moved to Woodland Park just over 4 years ago and we lost touch, but I thought of her often. She was loved very much by us and all of our furry family members. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with her family during this sad time. With love, Kathi Ogrodny.
