Nancy Delorto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Foran Funeral Home - Summit on Sep. 29, 2025.
We celebrate the life of Nancy Ruth Delorto (nee Skala) who graced this earth for almost 93 years. She passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025 at her daughter's home in Loveland, Colorado. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas A Delorto. Nancy lived most of her life in Chicago's West Lawn community. She was the loving mother of Thomas M. Delorto and Karen (James) Pierro. Proud grandmother of Angela, Cara, Mia, Joseph, Anthony, Vincenzo and CJ. Loving great-grandmother of Dominic and Anthony. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Florence (nee Michael) Skala and all her siblings: Ernest Skala, Edward (late Elaine) Skala, Irma (late Art) Pettit, June (late Aldo) Beata, Betty (late Sidney) Malinow and Robert Skala. Dear sister-in-law of Diane Skala, aunt of many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Nancy was much loved for her selfless, compassionate and giving nature. She was a grandma not only to her grandchildren but to the many bonus grandchildren that graced her life. An independent, strong woman who was fun-loving, unapologetically honest, a great listener and trusted confidant. Nancy leaves a remarkable legacy we were all blessed to experience. She will be forever remembered and always loved. Visitation is Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (just west of Harlem). Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 8:30 AM until time of Prayers at 9:15 AM. We will go in procession from the funeral home to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church for a 10 AM Mass. Nancy will be buried next to her beloved husband at St. Mary Cemetery.
