Nancy E. DeSarro, 75 of Dryden, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
She was born on September 10, 1950 in Waterloo, NY to Luigi and Alberta Sarasino DeSarro and grew up in Seneca Falls. Nancy went to college to become a speech therapist and spent her career working with children. She also participated in a diversity project with Ithaca College. Nancy loved to swim at the YMCA in Ithaca; it was like a second home to her for the past 30 years. She loved to travel and has gone to Italy many times since her first visit in 2015. It was there where she met her best friend Tony Boccaccio and they have been travel companions ever since. She was an avid reader and loved a good glass of wine. Nancy was a very special lady and a friend to many. Her laugh and smile are missed every day. She was the most intelligent person yet also so down to earth and humble. She would say "I'm just me, sweet, lovable Nancy."
She leaves behind 3 sisters, Denise Gomber of Homer, NY, Lois Fitzpatrick of Texas, and Trisha Stevenson of Australia; other extended family members and close friends and neighbors, Amy and Matt Ouellette.
At Nancy’s request there are no services planned.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County at https://www.ithacaymca.com/main/support-the-y/ or by mailing a check to 50 Graham Road West, Ithaca, NY 14850.
