Nancy Devine Obituary
Nancy was immensely proud of her five children, grandchildren and loved the short time she had with her great grandchildren. She is survived by P. Andrew (Diane) Hall, Martin (Becki) Hall, Betsey (Steven) Bates, Jennifer (Darryl) Souza, Matthew (Elizabeth) Hall along with her 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Nancy is also survived by brothers and devoted sisters-in-law.
Nancy was an accomplished journalist, beginning as a writer for her high school paper at Lyman Hall High School and continuing with articles and columns in the New Haven Register, Mystic Compass and Norwich Bulletin. She traveled to France to cover the 50th anniversary of D-Day with her special section coverage winning awards for Gannett.
She held a BA and a MFA degree from SCSU. Education was of the upmost importance to her.
Nancy faced adversity with courage and determination for success, instilled those values in her children and grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of loyalty and commitment to doing the next right thing. Nancy's wisdom and intelligent insight will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
Her family wishes to send special thanks to the Bradley Home of Meriden for their care and compassion. Services are private.
