Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Daughter
Nancy Diaz 66, died Friday, June 20, 2025, at Alaska Regional Hospital.
Nancy Diaz was born December 24, 1958, in Brooklyn, NY to Pablo F. and Narcisa Diaz. Nancy loved the New York lifestyle and always recounted her childhood amongst her siblings and her family get togethers.
Nancy graduated from Tilden High School in 1975 in Brooklyn, NY. Nancy spent the next 4 years studying and working in the administrative field. In 1979 Nancy started working at Gruntal & Co, an investment banking company, until 1992.
In 1979 Nancy met and married Clayton Canaii and gave birth to her son Jonathan P. Canaii July 20,1980. Nancy and Clayton parted ways in 1981.
In 1984 Nancy met William Cruz. Nancy and William married on September 21, 1985. Nancy later gave birth to Brittany M. Cruz (Hawk) on October 11, 1990. Nancy and William divorced in 2005.
Nancy lived in Brooklyn, NY from 1958 to 1992. Nancy moved with her family to Anchorage Alaska in 1992.
Nancy worked in the administrative field with various companies and duties from 1992 to 1998. She began to work with FedEx as a warehouse/cargo worker from 1999 to 2006.
Nancy also worked at Club Soraya night club as Bookkeeper/Barkeep and was a lead singer for El Combo Tropical Latino Band 1994 to 2005.
Nancy met Horacio Cedano in 2004. They were married in 2009. Nancy was Horacio's Princessa (Princess) as he so fondly always referred to her. They were married up until her death in 2025.
Nancy is survived by her husband Horacio Cedano, her children Jonathan P. Canaii, Brittany M. Cruz (Hawk), her 8 grandchildren -Emilio, Cincere, Sadie, Mia, Trumane Jr "TJ", Jamaal, Hayden, Kenzo, Mother Narcisa Diaz and siblings- Olga Diaz, Angela Diaz, Rosario Villers, Pablo Diaz and Narcisa Sadowski. Nancy was preceded in death by her father Pablo F. Diaz.
Nancy will be remembered for her beautiful voice, fiery spirit, love of family and music. She was absolutely the life of the party. She was a genuine and beautiful person through and through.
Nancy's viewing will be held at Legacy Angelus Heritage Chapel, 440 E. Klatt Rd, Anchorage, AK on July 03, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and then lay her to rest at the burial ground of Angelus Cemetery from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
