Nancy Duke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Starks & Menchinger Chapel - Saint Joseph on Jan. 28, 2026.
Nancy Marie Duke, age 67, of St. Joseph was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at her home.

Nancy was born on October 3, 1958 in St. Joseph to Robert and Marian (Schaefer) Ziebart. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on October 19, 1958 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stevensville where she was a lifelong member. On May 7, 1983 she married Gordon Duke and shared 42 wonderful years together.

Above all her accomplishments, Nancy's greatest and most cherished role was being a mother and grandmother. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting Longaberger baskets, making greeting cards, and crafting with family and friends. Throughout her life, she possessed a remarkable inner strength and patience through all she endured.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Carol Klupp. She is survived by her husband, Gordon; son, Andrew (Megan) Duke; twin granddaughters, Amelia and Emily; siblings: Ruth (Bill) Kudera, Bob (Jeannette) Ziebart, and Virginia Jennings; sister-in-law, Lynne (Ron) Whitsel; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 5 at 11:00 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave. Stevensville, MI 49127. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, February 4, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions in Nancy's memory may be directed to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.
