Nancy Dunsmore Obituary
She was born in 1936 in Philipsburg, PA to the late Arthur and Aline (Hamer) Swangren.
Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Philipsburg High School and graduated from The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She later attended Millersville where she graduated with a Masters in Education. Nancy retired from The Capital Area Intermediate Unit after 36 years as a school nurse. Nancy enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing. She was active in her church and an avid Penn State Wrestling fan. After retirement she enjoyed spending time at the Outer Banks with her late husband John and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Ellen (Dunsmore) Swigert and her husband, Robert of Newville; her son, Dr. Michael J. Dunsmore and his wife, Diane (Drexler) of Goldsboro, NC; five grandchildren, Casey Swigert of Newville, Matthew Dunsmore and his fiancé, Jessi Rhodes of Jacksonville, FL, Timothy Dunsmore and his wife Jeanette (Bear) Dunsmore of Newville, Summer (Swigert) Bucher and her husband, Brandon of Hershey, Tyler Dunsmore and his wife Bri (Heath) of Jacksonville, FL; six great grandchildren, Sutton Swigert, Cynthia Ploughman, Breeze Bucher, Nova Dunsmore, Branson Bucher and Isaac Dunsmore.
Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family in her home town of Philipsburg, Pa. Arrangements by Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home.
Memorial donations in Nancy's honor can be made to the First United Presbyterian Church, 111 West Big Spring Avenue, Newville, Pa 17241.
