Nancy Louise Edelstein Benz, 91 of Ventura California, passed away on October 18, 2025 at the Bluebird Care Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Nancy was born in Chicago Illinois to Virginia and Alvin Edelstein on March 23, 1934. She went to South Shore High School and graduated in 1952. Nancy enjoyed going to watch Ballet, Theater, Opera and live concerts throughout her life. Nancy moved to California in 1988 where she got her realtors license and became an active member at Temple Beth Torah. An avid animal lover, Nancy always had her kitty companions. She continued to contribute to the arts enjoying live performances and helping out in her community.
Nancy is survived by her Daughter, Beth Benz of Ventura CA, Son Alvin Benz of Riverwoods IL, and Flora Benz of Oswego IL. Nancy had three grandchildren Allie Benz, Sarah and Logan Donnelly as well as two beautiful great grandchildren Suyai and Ruby. She is preceded by her Brother Louis Edelstein of Niles IL.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Bluebird Care Home for taking such good care of Nancy through her final years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bluebird Care Home 1484 Bluebird Ave, Ventura CA 93003
Funeral Services will be held graveside and Ivy Lawn Memorial Park Thursday October 23rd 2025 at 1:00pm by Rabbi Lisa Hochbert-Miller. Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P Reardon Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 757 E. Main St, Ventura.
