Nancy Marilyn Foy Elder, age 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 25, 2024. She was born to Cecil E Foy and LaNeta Foy on June 22, 1935. She married the love of her life, John T Elder in the Salt Lake City Temple, and is survived by her son, Michael J Elder (Dawna), and daughters Laurel Roper and Brooke Fear (Robert). She was proceeded in death by her husband, John and daughters, Kristen, and Rochelle.  

Nancy met John at Granite high school and their eternal marriage has lasted 69 years and counting. Nancy had many amazing talents. First and foremost, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was also talented with arts and crafts, having managed Zims Crafts and K.D. Crafts for many years. She was an amazing actress and played many parts in community and church theater and was a member of a murder mystery troop. She served a mission with her husband for 2 1/2 years in the substance abuse recovery program, spent three years at the museum of history and art as a docent, and volunteered at the Jordan River Temple. She was loved and will be missed by many.  

 

The funeral will be held Friday, May 3, 2024, at 12:00 pm (MST) with a viewing starting at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 235 E. 9800 S. Sandy, UT 84070.
