Nancy J. Evarts, 71, of Salem Twp., died Friday after an extended illness at St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of John W. Evarts Sr., who died May 17, 2018.
Born Jan. 1, 1951, in Sanford, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas K. and Jean M. (Revie) Howard. Nancy was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and Kings County (New York) School of Nursing. Nancy was employed by Community Medical Center in Scranton as a registered nurse for more than 40 years.
Nancy's family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Villa for their loving care.
Surviving are her daughter, Amy L. Smith and husband, Douglas of Jefferson Twp.; her son, John "JW" Evarts and wife, Lori of Quakertown; her grandchildren, Dayle, Doug Jr. and Liam; her sisters, Isabelle Lewis and Ruth Reim; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Amorine and husband, Ronald and Kathy Faller and husband, Bill, and Thelma Evarts; brother-in-law, Michael Evarts and wife, Mary Evarts; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Kublis; her sister-in-law, Laura Evarts; and her brothers-in-law, Robert Reim and Stewart Lewis.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church St., Moscow. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Villa, 516 St. Mary's Villa Road, Elmhurst Twp., PA 18444, Toys for Tots, or a favorite veteran's organization.

So sorry for the loss of a beautiful lady, worked at CMC, she always had a kind word I would sit in her office, and talk about the job . You will be missed. Fare well Nancy.
