Nancy Evers-Berndt Obituary

Nancy Marie Evers-Berndt
Frankfort, Michigan
09/02/1956 - 07/20/2025
Nancy Marie (Moran) Evers-Berndt, affectionately known as "Granny," passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2025, surrounded by family in Frankfort, Michigan, at the age of 68. She was born on September 2, 1956, in Dearborn Michigan. Nancy spent her life rooted in Byron, Michigan later moving up north to Frankfort.
Nancy attended Cleary College where she earned her bachelor's degree in business. She loved playing with flowers at greenhouses, golf courses and especially at home in her own yard. Nancy loved watching the Detroit Red Wings, AuSable River Canoe Marathon, snowmobiling, eating late night snacks, drinking ice filled Coca Cola, and watching her grand babies. Nancy's most recent favorite past time was enjoying coffee on her new porch.
In February 1995, Nancy married Daniel Charles Berndt, whom she met on her birthday (Sept. 2nd) in 1990. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with love and laughter. Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel; her brothers and sisters, Ronald, Robert, Thomas, Kathy, Colleen, and Patty; her children, Peter (Patty Warren), Stacy (Brian Mortz), and Colleen (Robert Miller). Her precious grandchildren, Alexandria (Kyle Witten) Brian (Paige Mortz), Kaitlin, Sarah Marie, Andrew, Remington, Brenden, Avery, Aiden, Peter Thomas III, Lillie; and her five great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Wyatt, Finnegan, Everli and Cameron whom she treasured. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Ora and Leona Catherine Moran; her father-in-law, Eugene Harold and mother-in-law, Ann Carol Berndt; and brother-in-law, Deon Gus "Zeke" Berndt.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Saint Ann of Frankfort Catholic Church, 508 Crystal Avenue, Frankfort, MI 49635. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10 a.m. until time of funeral mass. Final interment will take place at Blaine Township Cemetery in Frankfort.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Nancy may be directed to the Benzie County Animal Shelter, 543 South Michigan Avenue, Beulah, MI 49617.
Our granny is goofy, she wears her hair puffy, she loves her babies, they drive her crazy.
The family has entrusted funeral arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Manistee.
