Nancy Fuller Obituary
NEW HARTFORD – On Monday, January 26, 2026, Nancy C. "Nan" (McGivern) Fuller, age 71, went to eternal rest, passing peacefully in her sleep after a prolonged illness.
Born in Utica on March 3, 1954, Nancy was the daughter of Henry "Bud" and the late Mary Lourdes (Flagler) McGivern. She attended St. Agnes Grammar School and was a graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School, Class of 1972.
Nan was a longtime healthcare professional, serving in various capacities such as nurse's aide, patient care provider, clerical and data entry roles, and medical transcription. She was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Orlando Regional Hospital. Her deep desire to assist others was her driving passion, motivating her to help people in their times of greatest need.
Nan was a lighthearted person whose kindness was readily noticed by those in need. Her quiet and reflective nature were among her greatest gifts. Always mindful of others, she expressed her care through prayer and a deeply spiritual presence. Though her physical abilities were limited, she remained a special soul whose calming and loving nature touched everyone she met. She consistently found ways to serve God by serving others. Her spirituality was a quality passed down to her by her parents. Raised in St. Agnes Church, she graciously accepted the parish transition and was once a communicant of St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church.
Her strong will served her well, especially after the loss of her daughter and through other life challenges. She was a survivor who showed remarkable grit. Nan was deeply loved by all, especially by her fellow residents and caregivers, who cherished her kindness.
Nan loved good music and always appreciated live entertainment which lifted her soul and engaged her spirit. Classy jewelry always caught her eye, and she would sometimes treat herself to new and fabulous pieces.
Nancy is survived by her beloved father, Henry; and her son and daughter-in-law, Charles, Jr. and Rebecca Fuller. She cherished the memory of her daughter, Melissa Amy "Missy" Fuller, who preceded her on July 10, 1990, and her children's father, Charles F. Fuller, who passed away in 2002. She is additionally survived by her cherished and treasured grandchildren, Jakob, and Riley; her siblings and their loves, Linda Agen, Diane and Mike Meliosky, Kathleen McGivern, Brian and Karen McGivern, Steven McGivern, and Maureen Fredericks; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
When Nan required care beyond what her family could provide, she received love and special attention from the caring staffs of the Presbyterian Home for CNY and the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. These dedicated individuals became a second family and cherished her kind nature. They were attentive and accommodating to her needs, and the dignity they afforded her allowed Nan to truly be herself.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. In lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions in Nan's name may be made to the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care and Rehabilitation Center Activities Department online at www.lutheranrehab.com/activities; envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
