Nancy Kay Ganske, 66, of Kelliher, MN passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at home in the arms of her husband.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Ben Zamzow officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
Nancy was born on March 5, 1958, in Mankato, MN, the daughter of Kurt and Delores (Priem) Steinberg. She attended Mankato public schools and graduated in 1976. Nancy married Daniel on June 11, 1977 and together they had 2 daughters, April and Heidi. They began their life together in Mankato, MN. During her life, she would live in St. Peter, MN, Prior Lake, MN, Bemidji, MN, Park Rapids, MN, and most recently Kelliher, MN. During her life she worked various jobs to help support her family. She worked retail, quality control, mail room and was a seamstress at Anderson Fabrics of Blackduck, MN. In addition to these, she did daycare, directed and taught preschool, taught Sunday school, was a church organist and pianist for most of the churches she was a member of, and was owner, along with Daniel, of a small fishing resort. She enjoyed music, all types of gardening, foraging, camping, hiking, her cats, her family and being very active in church.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Daniel Ganske; her daughters, April (Tim) Pearson of Roseville, MN, and Heidi Horton of Blackduck, MN; brother, Scott (Cindy) Steinberg of Bigfork, MN; sister-in-law, Jayne (Ben) Heintz of Crosslake, MN; mother-in-law, Wanda Ganske of Crosslake, MN; grandchildren, Artemis and Nicholas Pearson, Evan, Blake, and Jocelyn Horton; several nieces and nephews; and two golden retrievers who are still waiting for her to come home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kurt and Delores Steinberg; a sister, Barbara Frank; and a father-in-law, Dale Ganske.
