Nancy Lee Gilmore

Nancy Lee (Johnson) Gilmore, 76, of Southwick, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025 at Mercy Hospital.

Nancy was the loving wife of Fred Gilmore, whom she married on August 9, 1969. Together, they shared 56 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, dedication, and family. She was born on April 20, 1949, in Brockton, Massachusetts, and was the cherished daughter of the late Mary Johnson (Sullivan).

Prior to her marriage, Nancy worked at the Randall Boot and Shoe Company, where she helped make combat boots. After marrying Fred, she embraced life as a devoted Army wife, traveling with him to various countries and states in support of his military career. Although not in uniform herself, Nancy proudly served alongside the troops by working in Army dining facilities, dedicating 27 years of service.

Nancy enjoyed watching hockey, scratching lottery tickets, and reading novels. She also had a deep love for dogs, which is reflected in many of her cherished photos.

Nancy is survived by her son, Chris Gilmore, his wife Emily Gilmore, and their daughter Avery Gilmore; her grandchildren Scotty Priebe and children, and Colleen Priebe and children; and her sister, Carol Huntress. She will be remembered for her dedication, quiet strength, and the love she gave to her family and all who knew her. Calling hours for Nancy will be held from 1-3PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA with a celebration of life ceremony beginning at 3PM. A private burial will be held at the convenience of her family.
