Nancy Leigh Hackler (Kordish), aged 53, of Trenton, North Carolina, passed away on May 28, 2024, in Newport, North Carolina.
Nancy was the beloved wife of Timothy Marshall George Hackler and the loving mother of Douglas Marshall Hackler and Raven Nicole Hackler. She is survived by her sisters, Mitzi Conger and Cara Chambers. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Laverne Kordish (Waits), her father, Thomas Mark Kordish, and her brother, Joseph Mark Kordish.
She was born on March 18, 1971, in Champaign, Illinois. Nancy attended Waller Elementary School in Youngtown, FL, Rosenwald Junior High School in Panama City, FL, and A. Crawford Mosley High in Lynn Haven, Florida, and furthered her education at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida, and Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, NC.
Nancy had a diverse career, serving as the Previous Vice President of Southwest High School Band Boosters, a Family Readiness Assistant Officer for 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Forces, a Cardiac Monitor Technician, a HAM Radio Technician, Veterinarian Assistant, and the personnel manager & operator of the "Hackler Homestead."
In her free time, Nancy enjoyed US Constitutional studies, counseling others, HAM radio operations, horseback riding, motorcycle companionship, assisting veterinarians, fishing, quilt making, chess, photography, gardening and maintaining her homestead. She was a proud mother, loving wife, a muse to artists and musicians, conservationist and the finest example of a southern lady.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held at the Marine Corps Air Station New River Chapel on June 21, 2024, at 1300 hours.
She possessed the heart of a lioness, touched more lives than she could ever know, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
