Nancy "Nanc" (Joy) Hatfield, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 26, 2025, at her home in Hamler, Ohio.
Nancy was born on May 22, 1948, in Grelton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Benjamin "Boone" and Ann (VanHeck) Joy.
Nancy was a 1966 graduate of Malinta-Grelton High School. On May 27, 1967, Nancy married the love of her life Bob Hatfield, who preceded her in death on May 18, 2025.
For over 30 years Nancy was a paramedic for the Malinta EMS and was the Henry County EMS coordinator for more than 20 years. Nancy was essential in the creation of Hospice of Henry County and always organized the annual poinsettia fundraiser. She was also a proud supporter of Blood Mobiles and would donate every chance she could.
Nancy was a member of Malinta United Methodist Church and a former member of the Malinta Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Nancy and Bob were big campers and enjoyed going to Harrison Lake during the weekends and sharing time with family and friends. Nancy was an avid Bingo fanatic and loved quarter mania.
She enjoyed cooking for others and most of all she adored her grandchildren. She could be found at all their events with a big smile, cheering them on.
Nancy is survived by her three daughters, Sheila (Mike) Brown, Shonda Hatfield (Marty Fisher) and Shelby (Kory) Bacon; five grandchildren, Garrett Brown, Bailey (Andy) Cumston, Grant (Audrey Phillips) Bacon, Olivia Bacon and Addisyn Bacon; two great-granddaughters, Riley and Blair Cumston; three sisters-in-law, Betty Joy, Grace Joy and Sharon Hatfield; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was also a "special" grandma to Alex, Jacob and Austin Gebers; Brayden, Behn, Brezlyn and Brantlee Petersen; Kaige and Kamry Brinkman; and Breckin and Chayse Maas.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jeanie Kline, and brothers, Al Joy, Ken Joy Sr. and Charles "Herb" Joy; brother-in-law, Eugene Kline; and sister-in-law, Lyla Joy.
Visitation will be held from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31 at Rodenberger–Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 1 at the funeral home, where visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family to be determined at a later date.
