Nancy L. Heim, 75, of Kennerdell, died unexpectedly of natural causes Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
She was born in Oil City on July 2, 1949 to the late Harold L. and Adelia (Riffenburg) Lawson. She attended Oil City Schools.
Nancy was an active volunteer at Cranberry Place Senior Center in the mall. She received an award from Venango County Human Services recognizing her contributions to the program. She previously attended Victory Heights United Brethren Church.
Nancy loved playing games such as bingo, board games, cards, and Rummikub. In her early years she enjoyed fishing. Nancy loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to family picnics and cookouts; and going shopping and eating out with her sisters Joyce and Peg.
She was married in Seneca on November 15, 1969 to Larry J. Heim, Sr., and he preceded her in death January 23, 2018.
Surviving are four children: Joyce Young and husband David of Franklin, Larry J. Heim Jr. and wife Lucinda of Cooperstown, Michael Heim and wife Holly of Kennerdell, and Angel Stepp and husband Jason of Lincolnton, North Carolina. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren also survive. Nancy is survived by two sisters, Joyce Rodebaugh, and Peggy Frankenberger and husband Denny; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Ann Stubbs; and her siblings, Larry Lawson, Sandy Hewston, Gloria "Sis" Parry, and James Lawson.
Visitation will be held Saturday (Oct. 19) from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow Saturday at 4 p.m. Pastor John Authenreith from the Cochranton Community United Brethren Church will officiate the service. Private interment will be in Old Log Cemetery near Barkeyville.
