Nancy Ayers Hester, of Memphis, Tennessee, a retired guidance counselor with the Memphis City Schools, passed away on Aug. 30, 2025, at her home in Conway, Arkansas. She was 84. She received her BA and MS from Memphis State University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hester, Sr. Nancy is survived by three step-children: Bob Hester (Martha) of Germantown, Tennessee, Lynne Spinks (Mike) of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Beth Russell (Steve) of Roland, Arkansas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews, and her dearest friend, Gail Purtle. She was beloved. We thank hospice, caregivers and her niece, Sandra Van Velsor, for the unselfish care that was extended to her during her illness. In celebration of her life, the family will hold a private service.
