Nancy L. Hoekstra

Nancy L Hoekstra, nee Fako, age 52, of Elmhurst, IL. Beloved wife and high school sweetheart of Randy Hoekstra; loving mother of Olivia (Jonathan) Poortinga, Valerie (Caleb) Heyboer, and Caleb Hoekstra; dear daughter of Nancy Fako, nee Jordan, and the late Martin Fako, and daughter-in-law of James Hoekstra and Sharon Hoekstra, nee Voss; cherished sister of Lisa (Peter) Brusen, Laura (Michael) Utley, Margaret Fako, and Robert Fako, and sister-in-law of Lisa (Timothy) Benshoof; niece, cousin, aunt, relative and friend of many.
Nancy was a lover of everything outdoors; running, boating, sunsets, and especially spending time at the lake in Interlochen, Michigan. She was an accomplished french horn player, playing in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. Her family was her greatest joy; she proudly cheered on her children at every academic and sporting event at Timothy Christian Schools and Trinity Christian College. She was an active volunteer at Timothy Christian Schools and worked in the kitchen there as long as she was able.
Nancy was an inspiration to all throughout her cancer journey. She touched so many lives and showed everyone that if you lean on God, He will give you the strength you need.
Memorial gathering Friday, June 21, 5-9 PM, and Saturday 9-11 AM at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Rd. (3 Blks S. of Roosevelt) Lombard, IL 60148. Memorial Service Saturday, 2 PM at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Rd. Oak Brook, IL 60523. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Timothy Christian Schools are appreciated.
