Obituary
Nancy Huffman, 61 of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed away in her home on October 12, 2023. The following is an obituary written by her loving family.
Heaven gained a take charge and well-organized angel when our wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Nancy Huffman, passed on October 12, 2023. Nancy was born in Harvey, Illinois on March 29, 1962, to Ruth and Ray Ellsworth.
Nancy took her keen intellect and organizational skills to the University of Louisville for her college experience. After graduation, Nancy settled in Indianapolis where she raised her two girls, Shelby Quinn and Kayla Bryce. She was employed by the law firm of Hall Render Killian Heath and Lyman where she worked for 35 years. She facilitated the firm's national expansion and was a key leader in ensuring its mission and values were implemented on a day-to-day basis. During one of the many office renovations she coordinated, Nancy met Jeep driving, big-hearted Jeffery Huffman. Nancy and Jeff married September 11, 2010, and spent their years together camping and driving around the country to participate in Jeep jamborees.
Nancy was a voracious reader who loved camping and sitting by the campfire with a good book. She was the glue that held her family together by planning incredible adventures that included Jeff, her mom, her brothers and their families.
Left behind to tell stories, smile at her kindnesses and lament her leaving us too soon are her mother, Ruth; Shelby and her husband Justin; Kayla; brothers, Scott (Teri) and Paul (Stacey) and their families; as well as Jeff's children: Matthew Huffman (Rachel), Darci Fike, Katie Huffman Mason (Mathew), and Kylie Huffman Compton (Chad).
Those also having tales to remember and miss her earthly presence are her Hall Render family and dear friends picked up along the way, too numerous to mention.
In lieu of flowers, Jeff, Shelby and Kayla request a donation to Appendix Cancer Research Foundation: https://acpmp.org/get-involved/donate/
Friends and family will gather for a celebration of Nancy's life on Saturday, October 21st at Eric MD Bell Funeral Home, 220 North Maple Street, Pittsboro, IN. Visitation will take place noon to 2:00 pm with a service beginning at 2:00 pm.
Arrangements are entrusted to Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Services. All are encouraged to share thoughts, prayers, and memories with Nancy's family on her memorial page found on the funeral home's website, www.ericmdbellfuneralhome.com.
