Nancy Kristine Hunka

Nancy Kristine Hunka was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Nancy left this world suddenly at her home in Melbourne, Florida on July 24, 2024 at the age of 59.
She was born to Marilee "Mimi" Cass-Clark and the late William "Bill" Hunka on January 4, 1965. Nancy completed her BS in electrical engineering at the University of Florida and her master's in systems engineering at Florida Institute of Technology. She spent most of her career working in reliability engineering at Northrup Grumman in Melbourne, Florida.
Nancy had a love for genealogy and traced her ancestral family origins back 15 generations. She had a talent for building, tinkering, and renovating most anything that captured her interest. Nancy was an amazing cook, an animal lover, and a long-time cat mom. She enjoyed trivia and had a green thumb like no other.
Nancy had a witty sense of humor and a beautiful, bright smile. She had both life-long friends and new friends. She loved spending time with them, often planning trips and vacations with all of them. She had a close relationship with her mother and spent many weekends with her; she loved being Aunt Nancy to her nephew and niece very much.
Nancy is survived by her mother, Mimi Cass-Clark of Dade City, Floridad, sisters Deborah Hunka of San Diego, California and Katherine Upchurch, brother-in-law Rock Upchurch, and nephew and niece, Houston and Harper Upchurch all of Spring Hill, Tennessee.
A celebration of life for Nancy took place in Melbourne, Florida at Tracy's Lounge on August 18, 2024.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am September 28, 2024 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, which Nancy regularly attended, at 37623 Magnolia Avenue in Dade City, Florida.
