Nancy Wadey Imus, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024, at the age of 80, in Cottonwood, AZ. Born on July 23, 1944, she had an energetic spirit that was contagious to all who knew her.
Nancy was the proud mother of two sons, Chuck Wadey and Andrew Wadey, who remain forever grateful for the unwavering love and guidance she provided throughout their lives. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Clark Wadey and Aurora “Leo” Wadey, children of Chuck and Amber Wadey, and Zeland Wadey, son of Andrew Wadey. Nancy loved spending time with family and watching her grandchildren grow.
Nancy was married to Charles Wadey from 1973 to 1981 and later to Eugene Imus from 1984 until his passing in 2013. She is survived by her brother, John Kruk, and was preceded in death by their loving parents, Anna and John Kruk.
A proud graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor's degree in English, Nancy was an avid reader. She found joy in volunteering at the library, as well as swimming, hiking, taking long walks, and curling up with a cat and a mystery novel. In the later part of her professional life, Nancy dedicated her time as a bookkeeper at Westcott Funeral Home.
Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. Her memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of her sons, grandchildren, brother, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Westcott Funeral Home on September 28 at 10am, inviting those who were touched by her life to come together to share their memories, love, and laughter, just as she would have wished.
