Lloyd D. Imus Jr. 81 of South Bend, IN passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. He was born in Mishawaka, IN on September 27, 1942 to the late Lloyd D. and Vivianna (Taggart) Imus Sr. He married Clara Harrington on March 22, 1969 in Plymouth, IN and she survives.
Lloyd was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from the US Post Office where he was mail carrier for 55 years. He was a member of Coalbush United Methodist Church in Mishawaka.
Lloyd enjoyed fishing, camping and being outdoors with nature. He enjoyed all his family members and often included them in his travels. Lloyd would always greet you with a smile, he never knew a stranger. He was an avid Notre Dame football fan and never missed a chance to watch his team on television.
Along with his wife Clara of 55 years, the love of his life, he is survived by sisters; Katie (Chris) Schlotfeldt, South Bend and Candice (Dennis) Bohnert, Paris, TN several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Patricia Adams, Shirley Long, Mary Ponton and brother Harold Imus.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN 46536. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the 12:00 pm service on Saturday with Pastor Larry Chrisman officiating.
Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery with military rights.
