It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my mother, Nancy Carroll Driskill Johnson on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. She was 92 years old.
Mama was a very special person who loved her family, never met a stranger, helped anyone she could and was a good friend to all who knew her!
Born in Lynchburg, Virginia on November 27, 1931. She was the daughter of Robert Randolph Driskill, Sr. and Nellie Reynolds Driskill.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 63 years, Roy Melvin “Eagle” Johnson and her 5 brothers, Robert Randolph Driskill, Jr., Ray B. Driskill, Earl R. Driskill, Lewis C. Driskill, and Ronald R. Driskill.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Nancy Ellyn Johnson Farrar and Melanie Moore; 2 granddaughters, Reynell Amato and Elizabeth Singleton; 3 great-granddaughters; a very special niece, Linda D. Burton and a loving and faithful companion, her maltipoo, Little Bit!
Nancy was retired from American General Life Insurance. She was a life long member of The Church of the Brethren where she served faithfully. She enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, going to the beach and traveling. Nancy had a green thumb and enjoyed her plants and flowers. She was a wonderful cook and an avid animal lover.
