On the 30th of June, 2024, the 45th anniversary of her mother's departure to heaven, Nancy (Kennett) Jones, 82 years young, went to be with her loving husband of more than 60 years, Robert, her 4-legged sheltie daughter, Duchess, and all of her beloved family members and friends.
Nancy arrived in this earthly realm on January 29th, 1942, the daughter of proud parents Bernard and Genevieve (Cole) Kennett of Painted Post, NY. She joined her cherished sister, Jeannine, and ultimately asked her parents if she could attend Catholic school. Nancy did this at an early age and her parents made the sacrifices necessary for her to do so.
Walking alongside the Lord was a lifelong journey for Nancy and during the formative years that were hers came the arrival of additional special siblings----sister, Pamela, and brother, Mark. Family life was robust for Nancy and with storybook timing, prior to the end of her happy time at CFA (Corning Free Academy), arrived the man who would become her other rock and source of supreme succor and never ending joy.
New York State Trooper Robert W Jones of Bath, NY, born on October 24th in the Year of our Lord, 1934, became Nancy's husband in October of1961 and they then produced sons, Timothy (1962) and brother, Jeffrey (1964). Nancy was an exceptional homemaker and mother raising her sons and lending herself to volunteer activities at St. Mary's Church in Bath, NY which was led by the saintly and inimitable Father John. P. O'Malley. Father O'Malley and his superb seminary compatriot, Father James F. O'Connell were individuals who wholly affirmed and inspired her ever-cherished spiritual journey.
Besides homemaking (and a master of pie making), Nancy was privileged to serve an extended stint for the esteemed Judge Domenick Gabrielli (NY State Court of Appeals) as his home secretary in Bath. The judge and Mrs. G. each had a mutual admiration society with Nancy. It should also be noted that Nancy always recalled (with delight) her days as an employee of Earle's Jewelers on Market Street in Corning as well as a secretary for an executive at Corning Glass. Nancy was an easy hire; her parents provided her with a very fine mind and plentiful pulchritude. She also, it must be stated, had a value sytem and a work ethic that was a result of her parents' example.
Left behind are too many friends and allies to count including the phenomenal Care First Health team and the dynamic sister tandem of Rina and Doris. Amongst her family members besides Timothy (partner Carla) and Jeffrey (and his wife Beth) are Jeff and Beth's fabulous children Heather, Nathaniel, Jennifer, and Michael, her sister Pamela of State College, PA (husband Thomas and children Christy and Nicole), brother Mark of Seneca Falls, NY (wife Debbie and children Justin and Janessa), Robert's brothers Richard of Bath (and wife Virginia and their children Daniel and Diane) and Doug of West Palm Beach, FL (wife Maria and their children Andy, Randy, and Jennifer). Nancy also leaves an incomparable cousin corps that has the might of General Patton's 3rd Army.
Nancy was predeceased by Bob in December of 2021. She was predeceased by her incredible in-laws, Leo D. and Nancy R. Jones of Bath, NY. A favorite subject for Nancy were her interactions with Bob's parents; Nancy spoke often about being the luckiest woman in the world to have had such incredibly generous and loving in-laws. Predeceased also were two women loved so very dearly by Nancy: sister-in-law Mary Learn (husband Ken and daughters Becky and Julie) and her sister Jeannine (son Michael). Her calling hours and Catholic Mass will take place on Friday, July 5th at noon at Saint Mary's Church in Bath, with Rev. Patrick L. Connor of Addison presiding. All friends and family are welcomed to join in this celebration of Nancy's long-awaited reunion with Bob and Duchess as they now bask together in the Father Almighty's ethereal light. To know Nancy, of course, was to bask in some of that resplendent light. All who knew her miss her already, but she has fully earned the heavenly rewards that now are assuredly hers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name, may be made to the Finger Lakes S.P.C.A., Bath, New York 14810.

My cousin Nancy was always kind and gracious. She and my Mom were best buddies who shared a strong faith. Our visits were few and far between
but always loving. So glad you are with the Father and all of those you loved so well.
