Nancy Klinedinst Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. - Allentown on Jan. 23, 2026.
Nancy L. Klinedinst, 86, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, after living with breast cancer. Her beloved husband, Richard, was at her side as he had been for 69 years. Together, they raised three children and later delighted in spoiling six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Family time brought Nancy her greatest joy.

While raising young children, Nancy attended Kutztown University and became an English teacher and guidance counselor with the Allentown School District, a career she loved for 25 years. A lifelong learner, Nancy could always be found with a book in her hands.

Nancy was an independent spirit who found great joy in life and was always up for a new adventure whether it was flounder fishing, cross-country skiing, boogie boarding with grandkids, or spending a month at a yoga retreat. She found joy everywhere and with everyone.

Nancy never met a stranger. A frequent walker on the Saucon Valley Trail, she always stopped to connect with trail friends. Throughout her life, she gave back to her community by volunteering in everything from church activities to the Girl Scouts. Always one to support a cause, Nancy marched in Washington D.C., worked in political campaigns and consistently stood up for causes in which she believed.

A woman of deep faith, Nancy explored her spirituality both independently and through several churches over the years. She was most recently a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hellertown.

Nancy, known lovingly as Nanny, was predeceased by her beloved grandson, William "Billy" Klinedinst, as well as her parents and two brothers. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard, daughter, Suzanne (married to Charles Cruit), son, William (married to Michelle), daughter, Kathy (married to Jim Schick), grandchildren, Alex Cruit (married to Kiley), Jackson Cruit, Michael Klinedinst, Victoria Schick, and Gray Schick, two great grandsons, Oakley and Caiden, and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses and aides of St. Luke's Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allentown School District Foundation, honoring Nancy's lifelong commitment to education and caring for those in need.

Services: 11 AM Wednesday, January 28th, at HEINTZELMAN – STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, P. C. 274 N. Krocks Rd., Allentown. Visitation will be 10 AM until service time.
