Nancy Neiberg Kosanovich, 78, of Nagshead, NC and Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on December 22, 2021 after a long and valiant battle with Kidney Disease, ultimately succumbing to Covid related complications. Nancy went out fighting like the warrior all of those who knew and loved her would have expected. Even on that final day, Nancy was sure that she could make a full recovery and return to her beloved Nagshead.
Nancy was born on July 6th,1943 in Pittsburgh PA to Carl and Isabel Neiberg. She graduated from Carrick High, and went on to study nursing at Pitt, where she would also later teach. Nancy was passionate about her profession as a Nurse Practitioner, and she was able to help countless individuals throughout her long career.
Nancy married her best friend and high school sweetheart, James Kosanovich, and gave birth to three sons; Brian J Kosanovich, Bradley D Kosanovich and the late Brett Michael Kosanovich..all of whom were her pride and joy.
Nancy will be remembered for her infectious spirit, her passion for learning new things, her sense of adventure, and her overwhelming love of her friends and meeting new people. Nancy never met a stranger she didn't like no matter where she was, or who she was with, Nancy had a habit of introducing herself to anyone (and everyone).
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband James, her son Brett, and her nephew, Michael W. Naylor (Gretchen).
Nancy is survived by her sons Brian (Tom), Bradley (Samantha), Granddaughter Olivia, Sister-In-Law Judith P. Naylor, Sister-in-Life Mary Gardner, Nephew Grant Naylor (Jennifer) and all those who loved her.
Graveside Service will be held in St. George Serbian Orthodox Cemetery 920 Stewart Ave. Pittsburgh PA 15227 on Monday January 3, 2022 at 11 AM. At this time, there will be no further celebration of life due to Covid. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Pittsburgh Symphony, or Pitt School of Nursing, organizations Nancy was extraordinarily passionate about.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Readshaw Funeral Home, Inc.

Brian and Brad, you have our deepest sympathies. I´m so sorry for the loss of your beautiful mom. The memories of summers at the pool together are etched in my memory forever. Your mom, dad, brother, Barbie, Bob and all the others we´ve lost are all finally together again. All my love- Traci and family

Dear Brian and Brad and your families

We are so incredibly sad to hear this news!! We loved her and the obituary was right especially with her introducing herself to everyone. She loved her family so much. Each new person she met she wanted a name and their history. We loved that about her. May God hold you close and comfort you in this time. Love Steve and Trudy

Nancy was a longtime neighbor in Nags Head. She was always happy even with chronic illness. She was active as she could be and loved kayaking. My earliest memories were her and Jim power walking to a nearby grocery store for morning coffee.
