Nancy V. Kukuczka, 83, of Yakima, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 7, 2023, at Summitview Healthcare Center. Her family is comforted in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior. She was born in Yakima, Washington, to Lloyd and Mae Sherry, in 1939. She was the oldest of three siblings.
Nancy graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1957. She soon married Joseph St. Geroge, and together they had four children. She later married Allen Kukuczka, and they shared a child together.
In 1980, Nancy and Allen moved their family to Rimrock Lake on White Pass, where they owned and operated Twelve West Resort for a little over 20 years. It is here that some of her fondest memories are of all the family gatherings and timeless friendships made through those years.
Throughout her life she enjoyed antiquing, tole painting, league bowling, card making, sending and receiving cards and letters, reading, puzzles, annual beach vacations, and camping trips with family and close friends.
Upon retiring from the resort, they moved back to Yakima, and she went to work for H&R Block, where she again made lasting friendships. Later in life she loved to cook and bake. She would share plates of home baked goods with mail carriers, delivery drivers, neighbors, friends and of course her family.
She is preceded on death by her parents, Lloyd and Mae Sherry, John and Bernice Kukuczka, her daughter, Julie Nielsen and her son, Jim St. George. Nancy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Allen Kukuczka, and their children, Jon St. George, Jennifer (Kevin) Vimont, Kirsten (Mark) Waggoner, and Dave (Cathie) Norton, four grandchildren, Wes (Mimi) Vimont, Alex Vimont and fiancée Patricia Gukert, Talia (Chris) Olson, Zachary Waggoner and four great-grandchildren, Porter, Arthur and Ranger Vimont and Eleanor Virginia Olson. She is also survived by her brother, Don (Bev) Sherry, and sister, Marilyn Billings, sisters-in-law, Pat (Randy) Broeckel and Sandra Jackman, and many nieces and nephews.
Her children would like to thank the staff of Summitview Healthcare Center for the care, love and compassion shown to Nancy and our family.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday October 22, 2023, from 1:00-3:00pm, in the Meyer Auditorium (215 N 40th Ave.), located on the campus of The Terraces at Summitview in Yakima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to are suggested to be made payable to the Yakima Humane Society or Wags to Riches, and sent in care of Brookside Funeral Home (PO Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936), who is caring for the family. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.brooksidefuneral.com.
