Nancy Louise Larson, 81, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in
Lubbock, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on February 6, 1944, Nancy lived a life defined by quiet strength, steady faith, and
unconditional love and dedication to her family. She spent many years working as an
Administrative Assistant at TTUHSC, where her attention to detail and dependability earned
the respect of everyone around her. But her proudest role was always that of wife, mother,
grandmother, and sister.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Dawn Larson and her husband Mike Taylor of Sherman,
Texas, and her son, Thomas Larson and his wife Shawna of Lubbock, Texas. Her
grandchildren — Hunter Larson, Jarod Larson, and Dalton Taylor and his wife Loren — were
the light of her life, and she loved them beyond measure. She also shared a special bond with
her niece Karen Dowell and her husband Brady, and her nephew Kevin Bryant and his wife
Priscilla, defining what true family is all about.
At home, Nancy was rarely without the company of her loyal companion, Pyper, whose playful
spirit and gentle presence filled her days with joy. Whether curled up beside her chair or riding
along for a drive, Pyper was her constant friend and a true source of comfort.
She is also survived by her sisters, Janice Bryant of Lubbock, Texas, and Mary Ann Hyke of
Sandwich, Illinois, with whom she shared a lifetime of laughter, memories, and deep sisterly
love.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Floyd Larson, with
whom she shared a lifetime of unwavering love, partnership, and family. Those who knew
Nancy will remember her kindness, her strong will, and her unwavering devotion to those she
cared for.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Combest
Family Funeral Home in Lubbock. A Mass honoring her life will follow at 11:00 AM on Friday,
October 31, 2025, at Christ the King Cathedral, also in Lubbock.
Nancy will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Her family takes comfort in
knowing that her love, laughter, and lessons will live on in all of them.
