IRON BELT, Wis. - Nancy Ann (Nelson) Luppino, age 91, passed away on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at her home in Iron Belt.

Nancy was born on May 28, 1934, in Montreal, Wisconsin, to Emil Nelson and Elsa (Swanson) Nelson, the youngest of a family of four girls and three boys. She graduated in 1952 from the Iron Belt High School and attended Gogebic Community College.

Nancy was united in marriage for 62 years to Angelo Luppino on March 14, 1953. In 1962, Angelo Luppino Incorporated was formed and Nancy and Angelo began a long and successful business partnership in the general contracting and construction industry that is still prevalent today.

Nancy is survived by a son, Paul (Jaret) Luppino; a daughter, Karen (Dan) Soine; grandchildren, Gabrielle (Kevin) Kivi, Julia (Troy) Salzman, Joshua Soine and Jessica (Brad) Strand; great-grandchildren, Lynnea, Leo, Jordy, Tyler, Sawyer and Dawson; an incredible loving and large group of nieces and nephews, who will always remember visiting "The Farm;" numerous other relatives; and many dear friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Elsa; husband, Angelo; sisters, Elsie (Al), Linda (Carl) and Betty (Louis); brothers, Walter (Velma), Byron (Arnette) and Melvin (Shirley); and her brother-in-law, Nathan (Joan) Luppino.

Nancy was an incredible wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She loved teaching and sharing her knowledge of the lifelong family farmland she grew up on. Her love of gardening and being outdoors was evident in the large vegetable and flower gardens that dotted the property. All learned early to never complain of being bored as there was always both fun and work to be had on the farm. She believed that all summer days should be like those at Lake Wobegone, sunny and hot, no complaining allowed. The gardens, orchard and the blueberry patch resulted in countless containers of canned, frozen and baked goods that were shared and enjoyed by family and friends alike.

Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 9:30 a.m., at Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Nicole Hanson-Lynn officiating.

A private burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials are preferred, in lieu of flowers, to Salem Lutheran Church, 333 E. Aurora St., Ironwood, MI 49938.

The funeral will be live streamed and can be viewed via Salem Lutheran Church ELCA via Facebook.

The family sends a special "Thank You" to Theresa and the Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services staff for their care and support.

Arrangements are being handled by Jerald Rocco of Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., Wakefield, Michigan. To send online condolences or to share a memory, go to lakesidememorialchapel.com

August 29, 2025

I called Nancy "Martha Stewart", because she could answer most gardening and household questions. Ted and I will miss her smiling face and friendly greetings and also the sharing of her vegetable plants. We can still see her zooming past the house, eyes focused straight ahead and both hands planted firmly on top of the steering wheel. God speed Nancy! With Love and Friendship, Ted and Donna
